The ’70s were a decade of enormous change. Conscientious objection, antimilitarism, divorce, abortion and decriminalisation of drug use were all issues that irrupted into the midst of society, changing it radically.

But another change, a much softer one, marked an epoch-making turning point. A material was created which opened infinite possibilities of expression for the world of design. Alcantara® was born.
