ALCANTARA® LAB EXTRAORDINARY, EVERY DAY MOVIE CONTEST

APRIL 2008Within the framework of its “live” event, Alcantara® LAB showcases the results of its international EXTRAORDINARY, EVERY DAY Movie Contest.

The Contest was addressed to all those who live their daily life through personal experiences based on the same values that make Alcantara® unique: sensoriality, aesthetics, functionality and exclusivity. And for all those who practice the art of making every day live truly extraordinary. Applicants to the contest had to conceive and realize a video product on the theme “Extraordinary every day”. Each video could last a maximum of 3 minutes and could be realized using any video language (graphics, animation, filming etc). One year after the 2007 Design Contest, Alcantara® LAB has thus bravely decided to open itself again towards new communication languages, hence confirming its willingness to create a total dialogue with the creative universe and with the ever more visited virtual world. The movie contest web site was visited by more than 20.000 people from 38 different countries.
The best projects will be shown during Milan Design Week, and the winners will be awarded at the EXTRAORDINARY, EVERY DAY Movie Contest ceremony on April 17th at 6 p.m. in Milan, 54, via Tortona, That’s Design, Hall1, Former Ansaldo. (*)

The competitors, mainly creative professionals aged between 25 and 40, have represented “daily extraordinary” in a thoroughly free way, following only the fundamental values of the Alcantara® brand.
The participants worked towards a truly extraordinary result. The prize (15,000 €) was alluring, and so was also the opportunity of being judged by a prestigious, international and widely assorted jury, including Paul Arden, Giulio Cappellini, Maria Grazia Cucinotta, Fabrizio Giugiaro, Stefano Quaglia, Armin Linke, Joshua Davis, Stefano Pirovano and Patrizia Beltrami, Corporate Communication Director, Alcantara S.pA.

Alcantara® LAB presents for the Milan Furniture Show 2008 Extraordinary, Every Day Travel Contest: inspired by “contemporary nomadism” this contest is open to fashion designers, architects, designers and creative professionals of any nationality and age.
Participants are invited to design extraordinary objects, elements and accessories that can be used, transported, utilized during those everyday activities which take place on a journey.
It must be an extraordinary object made from Alcantara® materials that satisfies the four values that make Alcantara® unique.
Faithful to its role as a favorite partner of the creative world, Alcantara® LAB wants to encourage research  generating unique, original, creative designs.
