ALCANTARA® LAB “LIVE” EVENT AT ZONA TORTONA 2008

APRIL 2008Alcantara® LAB, the creative laboratory of Alcantara S.p.A., will exhibit the extraordinary at That’s Design in Zona Tortona through a suggestive “live” journey evoking some of the production phases of its well-known material – up to the realization of a finished product.

An experience that is extraordinary in itself!
This unique, exclusive performance will unveil the soul of Alcantara®, also underlining its sensorial, aesthetic and functional values. 
The personal interpretation of the meaning of “extraordinary every day” was also the starting point for the realization of all the videos that are taking part in the “Extraordinary Every Day” Movie Contest by Alcantara® LAB.
The short movies (each one lasting 3 minutes max) will be shown to the audience of the Milanese kermesse in the former Ansaldo industrial building in Zona Tortona, an area that will be thoroughly dedicated to innovation, perfectly suiting the such experimental innovation performance.

With this show, Alcantara® LAB re-iterates its role as an ideal listening partner for creative professionals from all over the world. Alcantara® LAB was born from the 30 years old experience of Alcantara S.p.A., a company that stemmed from a technologically-sound, sophisticated and innovative culture.
It is a virtual container of new expressive languages based on innovation and research. Its objective is to establish a solid, long-lasting relationship with the world of creative professionals at 360°, to listen to the needs and requirements of the various design protagonists, and to try to interpret them according to the Alcantara® values. Creative professionals can propose to this virtual lab ideas and projects in total freedom.
It is the ideal meeting point for exploring the potentials and the characteristics of contemporary creativity through experimentation, not only linked to an extraordinary material such as Alcantara®, but also through new communications forms and languages.
Today’s Alcantara® LAB coach is Giulio Cappellini who has found in this project his own passion for experimentation and for new challenges.
