October 2009Alcantara S.p.A. partecipates at the fourth edition of Love Design®, an exhibition dedicated to design, fashion and art lovers which aims to gather funds for the research against cancer by selling more than three thousand furniture pieces and accessories, signed by the most important international designers and archi-star and produced by the best design companies, offered to the public at very special prices.
This initiative was born by AIRC (Italian Association for the Research against Cancer) and from ADI (Association for Industrial Design). It involves, from October 23rd to 25th, more than 50 company apart from Alcantara S.p.A.: Ares Line, Arketipo, Artemide, Caimi Brevetti, Ceccotti Collezioni, Driade, Electrolux, Fiam Italia, Flos, Fontana Arte, Kartell, Lorenz, Luceplan, Mamoli, Molteni&C, Oluce, Sambonet, Teuco Guzzini, Vortice, and also Agape, Alessi, Aliantedizioni, B&B Italia, Cantori, Cassina, Castaldi Illuminazione, Danese, Davide Groppi, De Padova, Effegibi, Elica, Fratelli Fantini, Flou, Frette, Living Divani, Martinelli Luce, Mdf Italia, Metalmobil, Moroso, Poltrona Frau, Serralunga, Teseo, 3m, Zanotta and again Berkel, Mirabello, Nespresso Italiana, Rossignoli, Vitra - all of them donated some of their most famous design pieces for three extraordinary shopping days (with the possibility of receiving at home both big and small pieces bought).
Love Design aim is double: promoting a new way of making people aware of AIRC activities and gathering funds to sustain it, and also creating a new occasion for promoting design inside a more comprehensive cultural context involving Milan social life.
The exhibition, with the patronage of the city of Milan, will take place in the wonderful PAC-Contemporary Art Pavillion of Milan, from October 23rd to 25th. Entrance is free.
