Interior: Alcantara S.p.A. participates at Maison & Objet, the major French trade fair for furnishing accessories

A new departure for the Italian company - which produces the homonymous trademarked material used for covering surfaces - driven by the strategic and ever growing importance of the French market.
Alcantara®, famous for its wide spectrum of colours, its vast range of surface processing techniques and its ability to produce “made to measure” solutions for even the most demanding of requests, comes in the standard version and the variants perforated, embossed and Iron, a finish that gives the material particular luminosity.

A new, eye-catching display forms the backdrop to the Alcantara® products, embellishing the interiors of the most stylish homes: a linear ambience conceived by Giulio Cappellini, Art Director of Alcantara S.p.A., to highlight the versatility of the material. A number of iconic pieces by Ligne Roset®, long-term partner of excellence of Alcantara S.p.A., are also part of the display. The colours chosen to furnish the space - black, navy blue and white – form part of an elegant and rigorous design that is enlivened by a touch of artistic inspiration: to illustrate the originality and softness of Alcantara®, a number of spherical sculptures produced with different textures are lowered from above to offer an unusual interpretation of this extraordinary material, which combines qualities such as beauty, softness, ease of maintenance and sustainability. In fact, the company is 100% Carbon Neutral, meaning it has quantified, reduced and completely compensated for the CO2 emissions deriving from its production process.

Furthermore, designer Paola Navone has chosen Alcantara® for a one-of-a-kind set up of the Vip Club, situated in Hall 5. The decorative setting, the same in all the common spaces dedicated to textile producers, recalls the ancient Oriental embellishments, “out of scale” creations in blue, turquoise and red colors. Suggestive walls in changing tones from dark blue to white, and two Poliform seats (Bug armchair and e Airport sofa), both upholstered in pale blue to navy tones, make precious this space addressed to the most important guests of the fair.
A touch of fashion in the end – the hostesses will wear hand made Alcantara® creations originally designed by fashion designer Jean-Paul Knott.
