Alcantara® confirms itself as a constantly innovating material and reveals a core presence that keeps it abreast of the latest fashion trends. For the first time, the Company is presenting a collection of garments designed to show the versatility of this extraordinary and unique material. The collection is developed according to three themes. The first, named Clay Pigeon Challenge Cup, has a sports feel, privileging functionality without sacrificing the essential trendy touch. The second, Old Sicily, suggests the formal elegance of classic garments, with a contemporary look thanks to modern lines and sophisticated details. The third, New Elegance, is inspired by the most original haute couture creations, for a sophisticated public demanding the very best from the garments that they wear. Mainly male characteristics, with occasional feminine features, in trousers, jackets and other garments in which Alcantara® is used with a range of textiles and materials, such as denim, gabardine, wool and poplin. The details, workmanship and finish of these items are all dedicated meticulous care.
As well as suggesting unusual combinations and applications for Alcantara®, the collection also shows how the material is capable of retaining its aesthetic, sensorial and functional values unchanged, even after numerous processing and washing operations. Another important new feature, showcased for the first time on the stand at Milano Unica, comprises two new technological processes that enable Alcantara® to be applied to garments and accessories, by means of heat welding and ultrasonic welding. Through special equipment and adhesives, Alcantara® can be used for functional or purely decorative purposes. Examples of functional applications are the creation of pockets, or the possibility of replacing seams between the various parts of a garment. For decorative applications such as inserts, open-work and textured elements, these advanced techniques make it possible both to replace seams and to create personalized patterns and motives.
