ALCANTARA® FOR MINI, “EXTRAORDINARY, EVERY DAY”

April 2008MINI and Alcantara S.p.A. join forces at this year’s Fuori Salone, offering complementary transportation to journalists and select clients with a small fleet of bright and colourfully decorated cars, featuring Alcantara®.

This chauffeured fleet of MINIs, which integrates convenience and experimental design, will transport select guests around the city during Milan Design Week, with particular focus in the heart of Fuori Salone, at Zona Tortona. In this district, at That’s Design, Alcantara® presents a captivating “live” journey demonstrating some of the production phases of its material, emphasizing the extraordinary combination of sensorial, aesthetic, and functional values—from conception through to the realization of a final product.

The Extraordinary, Every Day is also the driving theme for the videos that were submitted to the “Extraordinary, Every Day” Movie Contest by Alcantara®  LAB. These short videos, each less than three minutes, reflect a personal interpretation of the theme and will be presented to an audience of Milanese “kermesse” in the ex-Ansaldo space, which is dedicated to innovation: A perfect location to display experimental creativity.
An Award Ceremony celebrating the winners of the “Extraordinary, Every Day” Movie Contest will be held on April 17, beginning at 6 p.m.
