Alcantara® XS Competition. Ten great international fashion schools for an “extra small“ contest

Alcantara®, leading company in the prestige fabrics sector, ever aware of stylistic, social and cultural innovations in the fashion world, presents the fashions and new tendencies proposed by young creatives world wide.A partner in this initiative is Mittelmoda International Lab, (www.mittelmoda.com), a network active since 2002 with the intent of consolidating, improving and better organizing the relationship between the textile industry and fashion schools.Alcantara® opened a contest to the young creatives of ten important international fashion schools who were involved in a singular project: the creation of a collection in miniature using Alcantara® fabrics on dolls, inventing a mini collection of fashion trends.The aim of the initiative is to stimulate and increase the young peoples’ creativity through the use of this exclusive material.Designers fromthe U.K., Germany, Israel, Holland, Spain, Italy, France, Brazil, Belgium and the U.S.A. created 10 outfits that were presented during an exclusive event in Milan. A scholarship was awarded to the La Chambre school in Brussels, creator of the best collection “extra small” in terms of creativity, fabric optimization and aesthetic quality.The creations of all the fashion schools are now touring the world with a series of local events organized with the collaboration of Mittelmoda.
