To celebrate his 50 years of work in car design, Giorgetto Giugiaro decided to treat himself to a Ferrari which he will enjoy with his family.Giorgetto Giugiaro commissioned his own company for a design that is completely free of any external limitations, since--for the first time in his career--he is both the supplier and purchaser of the new vehicle.Designed on the model of the 612 Scaglietti (chosen by the Chairman and Managing Director of Ferrari, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo), the Ferrari GG50 will retain all the same mechanical features, though it is slightly shorter than the original model, with a fastback tail that actually hides a hatchback. The rear seats can be folded down, and thanks to a redesigned fuel tank, theycreate a flat surface 140 cm deep, fully tested with help from Ferrari's technical department.Giugaro also employed the framework of the production model for the seating, upholstered in beige leather with red Alcantara® trim, which is also used for the door panels and matches the traditional colour of Ferrari bodywork.Alcantara S.p.A. would like to thank one of the great masters of Italian design.
