During Milan Design Week 2026, Alcantara reaffirmed its role as a key player in the contemporary design landscape through a wide-ranging program of experiences, collaborations, and moments of dialogue.
A narrative that placed the material at the center, as an expressive language capable of connecting disciplines, ideas, and visions.
ALCANTARA AT MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2026
The international event celebrating creativity, innovation, and new expressions of design. From the CMF Conference with Chris Lefteri, to Atelier Alcantara and the Car Design Award, through to the immersive installation FÒCO by Studiopepe.
Haus of Automotive
CMF Conference in partnership with Alcantara
Among the highlights of 2026, Alcantara partnered with the CMF Conference by Konzepthaus within the Haus of Automotive program—an international platform dedicated to automotive design.
In this context, Alcantara took part in the panel discussion “Feasibility in CMF – When Creativity Meets Reality” alongside Chris Lefteri, recently appointed Design Ambassador and Advocate, contributing to the dialogue between creative vision and industrial application.
The material was also featured within the space through an Alcantara-designed lounge, conceived as an immersive environment dedicated to the world of CMF, where innovation, creativity, and design converge.
Atelier Alcantara & Car Design Award 2026
Alcantara once again partnered with the Car Design Award 2026, the prestigious international recognition promoted by Auto&Design.
Within this context, Chris Lefteri also participated in the opening talk of the Car Design Award, titled “Sustainable Intelligence – Design in the Age of AI”, contributing to the conversation on the role of materials in contemporary design.
“Atelier Alcantara” provided the setting for the evening: an initiative involving young talents from Kingston School of Art and Istituto Europeo di Design.
The concepts developed by the students explored new applications between fashion and design, interpreting Alcantara as a dynamic and generative material.
The experience was further enriched by the contribution of the Alcantara Design Office, with a dedicated space for experimentation in the automotive sector, showcasing textures, configurations, and innovative applications.
Alcantara & Archiproducts
“FÒCO. Living Notes by Studiopepe”
The collaboration between Alcantara and Archiproducts continues with the project “FÒCO. Living Notes”, curated by Studiopepe.
Within the spaces at Via Tortona 31, Alcantara shaped an immersive experience inspired by the element of fire, where the material becomes the protagonist of the design narrative. Surfaces, furnishings, and details interact with light, forms, and other materials, creating ever-evolving environments.
Through intense colors, advanced craftsmanship, and three-dimensional applications, such as the bugnato wall created using 3D thermoforming technology, Alcantara amplified the sensory character of the installation, reaffirming its role as an expressive language capable of interpreting space.
During Milan Design Week 2026, Alcantara strengthened its role as a platform for dialogue between innovation, creativity, and education, expressing a vision of design as a continuously evolving process, where material becomes a tool for expression and connection across disciplines and perspectives.
