ALCANTARA PARTNER OF THE GERMAN CAR OF THE YEAR 2023

Alcantara returns to Germany’s most exclusive automotive event with a three-dimensional installation emphasising the soft touch and endless customisation possibilities of the material.

Alsfeld (Germany)July 2023

Alcantara returns for the second time to Germany as a partner of the German Car Of The Year (GCOTY), a contest established to celebrate excellence and innovation in the automotive sector, in which the ‘Made in Italy’ brand is an undisputed leader.

On this occasion, Germany’s most influential media came into contact with the uniqueness and innovation of Alcantara thanks to a three-dimensional installation that emphasised the soft touch of the material and its endless possibilities for customisation. It was a complete experience, in which the material took centre stage in all its potential variety of colour, texture and processes, also illustrated in Alcantara’s latest stylistic proposal for the automotive sector.

Customisation and versatility

“Orange is the new black,” says Andrea Boragno, Chairman of Alcantara. “Before, bright colours were only requested for tailor-made vehicles or limited editions. Now strong, intense colours are emerging from the niche market and becoming a trend, which is why we’re incredibly proud of the exclusive solutions we offer; the potential our material has for customisation is incalculable and the versatility of Alcantara enables constant changes in order to meet every need.”

German Car of The Year: the competing models

Some of the car models nominated to be the next German Car of the Year, like the new BMW Alpina B5 GT, Alpina B4, Opel Astra GSe and Peugeot E-2008, illustrated the extreme customisation potential of Alcantara and its technical and aesthetic qualities.
